Appreciate your mentioning my grandfather, Eric Knight. Been doing research on the plane crash Jan. 15, 1943 that ended his life and career. Please see my website for more details:

  3. I believe my Rex may have been an old time Scotch Collie. He is no longer with me and I miss him dearly. He was a $10.00 mennonite dog purchased by my brother when he was working in the countryside one day. I am now looking for my next Rex and as I research the different breeds I find Rex most in the old time Scotch Collie or what they call a Sprollie. His characteristics are identical to that of a rare old time Scotch Collie. His appearance was collie like black with a white chest and his front legs were white with a few smallish random black spots. He weighed 50 to 60 pounds and was neither small boned or heavy boned, somewhere in the middle. He was handsome and over the years as we wandered over the countryside strangers took his picture. Thats how handsome he was. Although he was beautiful it was his thinking dog ways that made him so special. He never saved anybody from a burning building as lassie did yet that potential was always there. I am sure he kept me from harms way on more than one occasion. He knew and led me away to safety. He interacted instinctively and differently with people and animals. I could tell you wonderful stories of my times with Rex. I have pictures but I am not computer savvy enough to send you one unfortunately. I commend your association for trying to save dogs such as these. I am hoping I will be able to find my next Rex knowing what I search for is actually quite rare. It takes some time in the beginning to bond and grow into best friends. When you do there is no comparison to such a friendship. Keep up the good work and wish me luck.
    Thank you
