Scotch Collies Rescue Needed
We have an emergency! There are 14 dogs in North Carolina in need of homes, these dogs appear to be Old Time Scotch Collies although nothing is currently know of their ancestry. Please visit our page at http://www.scotchcollie.org/help-with-rescue/ for more information and pictures and please consider helping by adopting one of these dogs or by donating to our rescue fund.
How can I help? Please let me know what is going on and what else I might be able to do. I don’t have money to contribute, but I have a loving and secure home. What else can be done? I would love to give a home to one of these lovely animals, so please keep me in mind. If she were a female I’d love to get involved in keeping the Scotch Collie alive and well!!!
Linda
Well, here I am one week hence from my first post. I want you to know that I have since been able to do more than just say I want to help. We have created a flyer about our rescue efforts that can be seen as a pdf by linking to http://www.freepdfhosting.com/9aaaea46af5.pdf. It was done in a bit of a hurry so there are a couple of typos but it still works nicely.
We have also created a fundraising link at http://www.gofundme.com/24yy0s. I have calls out to a pet charity organization, we have an offer to help with the transportation back from NC, and other organizational things that will help us handle the logistics of getting these beauties re-homed.
In fact we have already received many commitments from several who want to give them homes. Stay tuned and please be so kind to pass the word around your circle of friends and family who may be able to help, even a little, because it is really true that ‘many hands make light the work’ and ‘every little bit helps’.
Thanks for all your help Linda.
It is my pleasure to pitch in, Andy. I have come to appreciate your family and your kind and generous hearts. Tonya’s help with my granddaughter Shiloh has been such a relief; her disabilities can sometimes be taxing.
I wanted to give back to both of you in some way. When I did some reading here on this site and in the history information you have composed it became quickly apparent how much time and effort you have given to not just establishing the Association but to caring deeply about a very special breed of dog.
It is my hope that the rescue will create a greater understanding of what you and your wife are all about as stated warmly and clearly on the Home page of this site you have created. Creating and maintaining websites is alot of time consuming work and offering to rescue an animal let alone 14 or more is positively phenomenal. I feel strongly that the Scotch Collie is worth preserving so I hope my small contributions will lighten the load and allow you both to feel satisfaction and joy in the unselfish work that you are doing as you strive to preserve and protect this beautiful, noble and cherished breed.
We are all very excited here … Tonya will be on the ground in NC to help with the orphaned dogs today.
While she is in flight status we will be completing her itinerary home. Much of this information is being provided as she leaves as we have so many folks who want to give these wonderful animals their new forever home from South Carolina all the way up to Michigan and across the states through New Mexico.
We look forward with anxious and happy hearts to sharing just how things are going as Tonya and the dogs return home to Tucson. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers!!!
P.S.
We had to leave for NC for the sake of the dogs and their safety and are leaving on what funds have been already collected. So what that means is that some of this trip is still not fully funded. We just know once the TV station can give us some air time and the dogs are in our care that generous and kind- hearted donations will still reach us to care for the expenses of this trip.
Everything is very outdated on this page do you have a new page with new rescues on it
Hi! We don’t have a lot of adult dogs looking for new homes. But when we do, they are posted here.
I would be happy to foster or adopt a collie in need. I live in MN
